Program: Contributions of Photographers to the Management of Bald Eagles and Peregrine Falcons
Thomas W. French was born and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. He received degrees in Biology and Zoology, and holds a Ph.D. in Ecology and Systematics. Since 1984 Dr. French has been an Assistant Director of the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife, where he serves as Director of the Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program. He has advised numerous scientific, conservation, and educational organizations, as well as endangered species recovery teams. Dr. French has written over forty papers on mammals, birds and herps, and works frequently with the media to foster greater public interest in conservation.
