The Connecticut River Valley agricultural fields in Hadley and Northampton are a magnet for southbound migrants, wintering waterfowl, and raptors, and have hosted numerous rare species, such as the 2013 Gyrfalcon. We will visit several “hot spots” depending on the most recent bird sightings.
Meet at the DCR Quabbin Visitors’ Center and Administration Building (Windsor Dam), off Route 9 in Belchertown, at 8:00 a.m.
The all-day trip will continue by car approximately 20 miles to Hadley/Northampton.
