Dan Berard is a lifelong birder for whom birds were a gateway into a fascination with natural history. He has led birding and natural history tours across North and Central America, Hawaii, Trinidad and Tobago, and pelagic trips on both coasts. While in Panama, he worked at the Canopy Tower Eco-Lodge counting raptors for Panama Audubon Society’s “Raptors Oceans to Oceans” Hawk Watch and was a consultant for the BBC documentary Earth Flight. He is fascinated with the interconnectivity of ecosystems and the adaptations birds have evolved to survive in these ecosystems. Dan is a tour guide for Sunrise Birding and an arborist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
