Mass Audubon Broad Meadow Brook Conservation Center, 414 Massasoit Road, Worcester. Regular Meeting at 7:00; social hour at 6:30.
Speaker: Scott Surner
Program: Colorado “Chicken Run” April is the peak month to visit Colorado in pursuit of several “lekking” and non-lekking species of grouse, such as the Greater Sage-Grouse, Gunnison Sage-Grouse, Dusky Grouse, and Prairie Chicken. Scott will take us through Colorado and nearby states in pursuit of these amazing species. Their legendary dances, hooting, and moaning is truly something to witness. Of course, the grouse aren’t the only reason to visit Colorado: on a trip this past April, Scott recorded 200 species of birds, 18 species of mammals, and spectacular scenery!
