Speaker: Eve Schlüter, Assistant Director, NHESP
Program: Conserving State-Listed Birds through Targeted Habitat Restoration Efforts
Dr. Everose Schlüter (Eve) is the Assistant Director of the Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program (NHESP) at the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife (MassWildlife). Most recently she served as the Assistant Director at the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act Office in the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs. Prior to her time at MEPA, Eve was the Chief of Regulatory Review at NHESP and worked as the Program Administrator at the Tufts Institute of Environment. She received her Ph.D. in Biology and a Certificate in Community Environmental Studies from Tufts University in 2003.
Eve will present a brief overview of the core functions of MassWildlife, the mission of NHESP and its multi-pronged approach to the conservation of the Commonwealth’s native biodiversity, and on-going grassland and barrens habitat-management projects which are/will benefit state-listed bird species.
